About Halmstad University Scholarships
Every year, Halmstad University grants a lot number of scholarships to different students from outside the European Union/EEA and Switzerland in exchange for payments of their tuition fees. These scholarships offers may be given to students from any field of study for a master’s programs at Halmstad University.
Scholarships for international students
All applicants for the Halmstad University Master’s program have the opportunity to apply for two distinct scholarships, one provided by the university and the other by the Swedish Institute.
Scholarships for exchange students
There are many opportunities for you to study as a student through Erasmus or complete an internship in another country in Europe without having to pay tuition fees.
Eligibility, Criteria, and Requirements for Halmstad University Scholarships
- All applicants must be citizens of a nation outside the European Union or the European Economic Area, and they must also pay tuition fees.
- A certified copy of the passport page containing the applicant’s personal information and passport photos is required for all applicants to prove their nationality.
- The entry requirement conditions for the educational program must be met.
- Scholarships are only available to students attending Halmstad University.
The standard guidelines for progression from year 1 to year 2 apply to scholarships that are longer than one year. The criteria for awarding scholarships for the same period are no longer met by scholarship donors who do not violate the requirements for progression to the following year. - The scholarships are available for the whole master’s program with the condition that the study results are acceptable, i.e., they must score 50% of the credits at the start of each semester (15 credits out of 30). Beneficiaries of the scholarships are likely to complete the program within the allotted study period.
- Only the year and program specified in the acceptance decision are accurate for the scholarship. Students who have already been granted a leave of absence from their studies in order to continue their studies in the subsequent academic session are no longer eligible for the award.
- Halmstad University is permitted to examine the potential future payments of scholarships given. This may start following the imposition of disciplinary measures, a study break, or the failure to pay fees.
- All candidates for whom Halmstad University has offered a scholarship but has not obtained a residence permit will lose their scholarships.
- Scholarships for continuing education programs that don’t require tuition fees won’t be given to students who are no longer required to pay those fees.
If a student is no longer required to pay tuition, they must notify the university in writing that he/she do not need to pay for tuition anymore.
Halmstad Scholarships Amount
The scholarships offered by Halmstad University will pay either 25% or 50% of the spring session’s tuition; the scholarship amount will be deducted from that sum. Only the spring session is covered by the scholarship. Only a few students receive Halmstad University Scholarships each year due to their restricted availability.
Deadline and opening dates
The Halmstad University Scholarships application date for studies starting in the fall of 2022, was open March 9 to 16. After the First Notification of Selection Results on April 7, Halmstad University emails those who were selected for scholarships. the online application for the spring session of 2023 will be available and open in November 2022.
How To Apply
- submit an application and payment for one of the university’s Master’s programs.
- Only candidates who are qualified for Halmstad University scholarships and qualified for Master’s programs will be notified with a link to the online application form.
- Complete the online scholarship application form correctly. Please keep in mind that you will be required to show the application number you will get from University Admissions.
- Based on students’ academic achievements, the council will grant scholarships (Grade Point Average but also ranking of the previous university and proficiency in the English Language). There will be no consideration given to the student’s financial situation or employment history.
- There will be arrangements in the nomination for any applicant who selects Halmstad University as their first choice.
- A letter and an invoice with the reduced scholarship amount will be sent to the recipients. By the deadline specified in the letter, the scholarship must be accepted or rejected.
No individual emails will be sent to those who are not given a scholarship. You have not received a scholarship if you receive an invoice for the entire amount of the tuition.
